Made for the user in mind
Providing an optimised home automation solution means providing a list of trusting services that users can rely on on a daily basis, all year round. What does Pi LYNK offer?
Designed for maximum uX and responsiveness that users expect from a modern system. Intuitive display for ease of access.
Gauranteed system connectivity, no matter the location, no matter the time. Always on, always available. Accessible using a wide range of devices.
Integrated graphing solutions to show what your home is using and when. Extended sensor monitoring allows for easy click and go feedback
Not every setup is ideal for every home. Design allows for upgrading the system with the systems closed product device range from relays to sensors.
Our carbon footprint is an issue everyone should be aware of. Reduce this footprint by eliminating unnecessary usage around the home.
Keeping interaction data secure is a top priority in any system. No exceptions are made here. Secure data storage - ensuring your home control is secure.
Project proposed as part of the fourth year of the Software Development Bachelors of Science at the Institute of Technology Carlow. The aim of the project was to understand the fundamentals technologies becoming more and more common in everday usage relating to the Internet of Everthing.
At the moment the project is nearing the end of the scheduled iteration one period. This iteration involved the core development of low level communications, setups, establishing a networking solution and prototyping server technology.
Web Design & User Experience
Low Level Device Commnication
Python Programming
Planning & Solution Design
Documentation
To develop a system that users can appreciate, a range of tecnologies were employed.
Logging and error reporting as standard
Can fit practically anywhere in the home
During the life cycle of the project, many document artifacts are expected to be created, including: Vision Document, Research Manual, Functional Specification, Design Manual, Technical Manual & Iteration Reports. The aim of these documents is to allow a visible audit of the progress of the project and for technical documents, to allow the system to be developed efficiently using the documents.
